Winter Night socks are worked from cuff down with a modified Eye of Partridge gusset heel. Starting with lacy twisted ribbing, you will work simple stranded colorwork of stars on the beginning of the leg, and snowy trees on the middle of the foot. It is a perfect colorwork project for first-timers. When working colorwork, you switch to larger needles and knit with two contrasting colors. This design was inspired by some commercial socks I encountered a few years back. I hope you enjoy knitting them during wintertime. Happy Holidays!

Winter Nightは、交差編みがほどこされたゴム編みの履き口から編みはじめます。修正版アイオブパートリッジのガセットヒールで、しっかりした厚手のかかとに仕上がります。大小さまざまな星や雪に覆われた木々の編み込み模様は、カラーワーク初心者の方にも挑戦しやすい柄です。カラーワークはきつくなりがちなので針のサイズを大きく調整し、2色を使って編み込んでいきます。
このソックスは数年前に目にした市販の靴下からインスピレーションを受けて手編みのパターンにデザインしました。冬の間、Winter Nightソックスを編んだり、履いたり、余裕があれば大切な人へプレゼントしたりして、楽しんでいただければ作者冥利に尽きます。
